Silent Hill Film

As you well know, the Silent Hill series is probably my favorite series of games, ever. For me it's the cerebral chills that Resident Evil just doesn't give. So, now there's a film out. Well, it's not an Uwe Boll movie, which is an immediate plus. However, from what I've seen for reviews, it seems to be divided between people that have played the games, and get what's happening, and people who haven't. Guess which camp didn't like it. Well, it's a film for the fans anyway, screw everyone else. And if sh1tty horror films like Saw II can do well at the box office, I'm betting this will too. Although from what I hear it has a lot of running, sort of like Gothika, which is a Halle Berry horror vehicle nobody remembers, or cares about. Also like Friday the Thirteenth, Part XXVI: Jason Travels Through Time To Kill Lee Harvey Oswald (Oswald dies, but the grassy knoll shooter gets JFK, natch!)

Holy Smokes - Guess what I just became!

I just received an email from the HBO group requesting for me to be a MPRRS Peer Movie Reviewer. This is awesome news for me and you guys, because now that I'm "in" the HBO group, I can spread Reyals Bemus everywhere. I'll also be able to inform y'all of new movies and content before they're mainly released on HBO.

"View From Heaven" - An Excellent HBO Film

I was reading the daily updates over at HBO recently and noticed a music video submitted by Belligerent set to the song View From Heaven by Yellowcard. This is one of those rare videos on HBO that I even consider to be a well done piece of machinima. The concept and feeling is great, and the video is short and smoothly progressive. The only thing that I would have edited differently would have been some certain mark-in/mark-out points that don't cut smoothly with the music.

Overall Rating: 8.79/10: Excellent

Battlefield: What The Heck Is Going On Here?

The Battlefield series is now a sellout series. Battlefield 2 was amazing, and Modern Combat is also a great game. Modern Combat feels more like a movie than a war, but excels at it.

Now we have Battlefield 2142. Future and Battlefield put together sounds good, but is just a selling point. People who see it will buy it because it is Battlefield and in the future. But the originality of the games is being lost. Now I may be judging early. Maybe a new innovative play mechanic will be added. Maybe space battles will be included. But the outlook for me is grim. All people now playing BF2 will switch to this new one, making games in BF2 smaller. Hopefully, we don't hit the "Decline of Video Gaming" anytime soon. It really sounds like a license manuever rather than a chance to make a good game.
