REAL Russian CS

I found this video on Google Video the other day. It's basically a reenactment of Counter-Strike in real life. Now you'll most likely say, "Well I've already seen real-life vids of CS and they all sucked." You're right, they DID all suck. All of them were made by n00bs weilding nerf-guns running around Fred's backyard with their Mom's in the background screaming, "Freddy, ya' want a tuna sandwich??1"

No, this video is very cool, reenacted with army guys in full suits, guns and stuff. The beginning starts off with some Russian officers talking or something, but the action soon heats up.

Check it out here.

All them Russians..!

A Modest Proposal

In light of the recent disrespect thrown towards games, gamers, and amongst gamers, I'm proposing a proposal that will solve all our problems. I propose gaming becomes a religion. Here art the commandments, given to me directly from the LORD (Shigeru Miyamoto.)

1. Shigeru Miyamoto is your god. No, he wasn't the first, but he's the best. From a Greek point of view, he's like Zeus, and people like Nolan Bushnell are the Titans. They may have come first, but now they are damned to programming Chucky Cheese games in designer Tartarus. Anything the LORD Shigeru says should be regarded with the utmost reverence and respect, (if you can't understand the Japanese he speaks, just assume he's saying "Mario is Wii" over and over.)

2. The Triforce is our equivalent to the cross. Regard it with reverence. Scrawl it on walls, ceilings, buildings, books, whatever. Others must see the light.

3. Jack Thompson, Hilary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, and co. are the Devil and his fallen angels. At every battleground, chat room, BBS, thicket, and crossroads we will fight them with all our might.

4. Anyone found to be cheating, h4xx0ring, standbying, being annoying, racist, etc. will be excommunicated immediatly.

5. I'm the pope. I get the biggest hat. Kiss my ring.

6. Nintendo is your idol. Regardless of their current business practices, eccentricites, and terrible product names, you will never criticize them, ever. Their early and lasting contribution to the gaming world is astronomical and impossible to correctly calculate.

7. Treat your controller as you would treat your significant other. Always touch it with a tender hand, and never abuse it, ever.

8: If your controller has died, it is suitable to wear it on your person, around your waist preferably. You must perform the operations to convert it yourself. Remember: Any hipster can buy a controller belt, but making your fallen hero into one yourself is a labor of love.

9. Every gamer is to make a pilgimage to E3 at some point in their lives. Otherwise they may never enter gaming Heaven.

10. "GePhoria" is a bad religion led by false prophets who desire only to extort the masses. Do not believe their lies.

11. Strategy guides are for pansies.

12. If you or someone you love is addicted to an MMORPG, do everything in your power to help them. Remember: Winners don't do drugs. If you find your loved one on "Evercrack" get them to rehab, immediatly.

13. In our system of Numerology, the following numbers are sacred: 0, 1, 3.14, 8, 16, 35, 42, 64, 99, 128, 200, 255, 314, 512, TCP/IP 666, RAM, 3.2 Ghz, 1337

14. All members must learn the 31337 language, as sermons will be conducted in it.

15. Caffeine is mana from Heaven. When in doubt, consume it and the path will be illuminated (kind of like in Dragon's Lair)

That is all for now, stand by for more from your prophet, Ryan.

The Wahttehhog Podcast RSS Feed Is Online!!

I won't get into all the details about how I set up the RSS and hosts and stuff, but I will tell you guys that the stable Wahttehhog PODCAST feed is now online and available for subscription on iTunes. I've also programmed many keywords that will link to our podcast in the iTunes search panel. So, for example, if you typed in "wahttehhog" in iTunes, it would connect you to our "1337er Than You" podcast.

Subscribe to the official Wahttehhog podcast here.

(You need to have iTunes to subscribe. If this link doesn't work for you, just go into iTunes and navigate to our podcast.)

Ughhh... Debates.

Now you all know well that I'm not the debating type. I feel that no matter how hard you try, the other person will not change their opinion. Not to mention, I don't want to make other people believe what they don't want to believe. Now at the request of Pete to join this debate, I absolutely will not. I will not take a side.

However, both of you are right. Morally and ethically, how can we bomb fellow humans? But we live in a scary world where fear is the ruling emotion. People use fear on us, why not use it on them? That's the Iran portion.

In Iraq, you can only look to the future. Things are bad now, but the outcome may be positive. I don't feel that we are allowed to judge the war itself. Only those fighting or residing in Iraq can do that. The only way that Iraqis can be liberated is when they feel that they are liberated. We cannot say that they are. Isn't the point of being a human a little bit of self-sacrifice, Ryan? But like you said, I believe we may have overdone it. The only way I will truly know is to wait and see what's down the road.

E3 is in THREE DAYS!!

From the desk of the editor

Excuse me for deviating from the normal ramblings here, but your retard wishes to speak his mind.
Ahem, We live in a modern society, a democratic society, a humane society. It's the year 2006. We know that nuclear weapons kill hundreds of thousands, doom thousands more to slow death by cancer and radiation poisoning, and cause ecological catastrophe on a global scale. Launching one would most likely cause a retaliatory strike powerful enough to end civilization, and possibly all life as we know it. That's the M.A.D. (mutually assured destruction) theory. Our leaders are intelligent, rational people, Right? That's why we elected them, Right? We know they would never seriously consider launching them, RIGHT? Wrong. Today the Bush administration submitted a statement that in dealing with Iran, the nuclear option would always be in consideration. I don't know why we think we can get away with nuking them. Maybe because they have no WMDs of their own? That effectively nullifies the M.A.D. doctrine, right? Let's get this in cement: Launching nuclear weapons against our fellow human beings, no matter their capacity to retaliate, is the worst possible action we could ever commit. Regulate Iran, embargo them, even invade them, just don't nuke them, unless you want doomsday to come a whole lot sooner. Remember, the small amount of nuclear nations in the world attempt to regulate control of them so that they never need to be used. Wouldn't using nuclear weapons in the pursuit of this aim make the purpose completely null and void? The government may tell you we're only going to use "tactical nuclear devices" which "aren't as bad" as full blown atomic, thermonuclear, hydrogen, nuetron whatever, you get the idea. Enjoy this year, enjoy the next and all that come after, because they might be your last, and all of humanity's. This may very well be the beginning of the end. My bunker fits 20 people, so you should probably reserve your spot now.

Sketchup

It's pronounced like ketchup with an "s" at the beginning. Sketchup is a 3D modeling program that I read about whilst browsing about my favorite Halo-related forum (besides our blog, which technically isn't a forum). It is free and is made by Google. According to guy who made the post on the forum it is "easy to use and accessible for morons." It's probably not as good as some other 3D modeling programs, but it's free and legal. It is available for download here.
