ah nintendo a great system, of course im talking about the n64 well lately ive heard bad things for zelda its release dates being pushed back for minor improvements to 2006 and you can laugh at the ds if you want. yah nintendo is screwed until the revolutions comes out and even then its probably gonna get left behind. Pete wered you get your info the xbox everyone is saying the controllers are wireless and included who cares about wireless networking its not all that convienyent and use the extra 100$ or just use wires iv'e gotta ask why do you care if its wireless what your gonna have it 8 feet away from the outlet and your tv its a councel not a computer if you want proof that its not that convineint my dad walks across the halls in his underware because he can bring his laptop out of his room its not convienint at least not for me.

The reason why wi-fi is convenient for me is because it allows me to play Halo 2 up in my room without having to run a wire all the way down to the living room where the cable modem is. Matt also uses wi-fi technology so that he can work on the development of the wahttehhog clan in his room in the middle of the night while his parents think he is sleeping.
By the way I got the information about the xbox 360's wireless controllers from xbox.com.

okayy well pete easy answer keep the xbox down stairs with the cabel modem or ask your parents to run cable into your room! and the controllers I checked xbox.com and didn't see anything about the controllers hey wait a second I just thought about another answer to your wifi thing maybe the wifi stuff costs to mutch to put in with the xbox360 what your saying is it would cost extra to buy the wifi with the xbox 360 but doesn't that make sence.

FYI Jon, most standard (non-high speed) ethernet cables begin to lose clarity if running beyond 10 feet. Therefore, if Pete tried to run a cable up to his room he would lose the natural advantage given by a high-speed connection, thus increasing his chances of being pwned. He could run a CAT-5 cable, but I'm pretty sure the XBOX doesn't recognize them (mine doesn't.) Also, has it occured to you that maybe Pete's parents don't want HIS game system on THE WHOLE FAMILY'S television? Or possibly that they don't want bundles of wire running through their house where everyone can see them? Stringing a cable through multiple walls, ceilings, and floors is a pain in the ass, and WI-FI is quick and painless.

O.K. Ya'll.
Cat-5e cable is what to run. At my LAN parties, we've used Cat-5e cables along with the hub to connect ya'll up. When filming, I sometimes bring Cat-6 cable increasing range as well as signal strenth.
Pete, I actually just use a wireless router, known by Apple as an "Airport Base-Station". I find Wi-fi very unstable and undeveloped enough to use it.

Funny, my CAT-5 cables don't work with my XBOX, or Austin's router.

Isn't any 802.11 network a wi-fi network? Because if you have apple's air port base station than that means that you have a 802.11g network (which I believe is a wi-fi network).
Wi-Fi
Short for wireless fidelity and is meant to be used generically when referring of any type of 802.11 network.

By the way, I didn't say that it costs extra to have wi-fi built into the xbox 360, because that is not even an option. What I said is that it costs extra to have it come with the wireless controllers and all the other accessories.

Austin, what model is your router?

NOTHING FROM MICROSOFT IS A "GOOD DEAL"!!! Always remember that Microsoft is trying to screw you into buying overpriced, underpowered crap WHENEVER you do business with them. Be wary around Microsoft, for you will never find a greater hive of scum and villiany.
