Silent Hill Film

As you well know, the Silent Hill series is probably my favorite series of games, ever. For me it's the cerebral chills that Resident Evil just doesn't give. So, now there's a film out. Well, it's not an Uwe Boll movie, which is an immediate plus. However, from what I've seen for reviews, it seems to be divided between people that have played the games, and get what's happening, and people who haven't. Guess which camp didn't like it. Well, it's a film for the fans anyway, screw everyone else. And if sh1tty horror films like Saw II can do well at the box office, I'm betting this will too. Although from what I hear it has a lot of running, sort of like Gothika, which is a Halle Berry horror vehicle nobody remembers, or cares about. Also like Friday the Thirteenth, Part XXVI: Jason Travels Through Time To Kill Lee Harvey Oswald (Oswald dies, but the grassy knoll shooter gets JFK, natch!)

  • Silent Hill, whoa. I won't say much, but it stays basically true to the source material, and it has a real nut-shrinker of an ending.

  • Does anyone know of a good video capturing program for Macs? Something like Fraps for PC (doesn't run on Macs).

  • The BEST screen capture program for Mac OS X is undoubtedly Snapz Pro X by Amprosia Software, Inc. It captures screenshots of everything (including the desktop and whatever is open, unlike Fraps) as well as your gaming videos and stuff. And this is just scratching the VERY surface of this outstanding program (rated 5/5 on Macworld, which is VERY rare. I use this program ALL the time and have found it a pure Mac gem. Read up on it on it's webpage.

It costs $70 for the full version, but if you'd like I can possibly drop it on your drive sometime.

  • Does anyone know of any other video hosting services other than YouTube, Ourmedia, MyFileStash, or Google Video that is reliable and allows downloads.

  • A personal web-file server?

Of course, that's what I've been working on configuring for the past year or so...
