Sketchup
It's pronounced like ketchup with an "s" at the beginning. Sketchup is a 3D modeling program that I read about whilst browsing about my favorite Halo-related forum (besides our blog, which technically isn't a forum). It is free and is made by Google. According to guy who made the post on the forum it is "easy to use and accessible for morons." It's probably not as good as some other 3D modeling programs, but it's free and legal. It is available for download here.

This software definitely does look very promising for beginners (and the casual PC user in general) to learn the concepts and basics of 3D solid modeling.
I definitely will be trying out this program to see where its true potential lies.
