Modtacular! - Update 1
I got a lot of stuff done in the past few days. There's a LOT of stuff that I'd like to talk about, but I'll keep it to the basics.
_____
These are some high-resolution images that I captured in a "freeze-frame" within Halo 2: (Note that this is being done solely on one modded Xbox)
The environment you see in each image is currently frozen in time (the center image is the chief running sideways, frozen in midstep) Basically, after time is frozen, the camera was disconnected from the MC and is moved to anywhere on the map, even outside restricted areas. Then, a screencap feature captures a high-res 640x480 image of whatever the camera is "looking" at. After that, I just download the RAW image files through FTP from the Modbox to my PowerBook, and convert them to JPG images.
And here's a video displaying the freeze-frame awesomeness.
Download H2_freeze_frame (5.8MB, Quicktime)

Pretty cool.

That does look like it might be useful in some way.

Are you serious?
Nevermind the time-freeze feature, but just the simple fact that we can capture full-resolution images of anything is awesome!
Plus the camera can move anywhere on the map, including in the air and into out-of-bounds areas. Perfect for filming. We're talking sweeping shots of large-scale battles and impossibly cinimatic shots of characters talking and interacting with the environment.
Think, Clay. Think of the possibilities...

We finally got a review from the website (highimpacthalo.org) I posted the episode on:
"wow, i liked it and thought it was awesome"
That's only the first review. Hopefully, we get more like it.

Just watched the video of the freezeframe. It looks really cool. It would be good for panning Matrix-style.

Well, that is one thing... But I just wanted to show that this amazing mod is capable of so much stuff... I was playing single-player today, and I was able to "freeze" the cutscenes and MOVE AROUND WITHIN THE SCENE, taking pictures of the cutscene from different angles. And the thing is with this mod is that your are only the camera tag, which means you can sit the camera in the middle of an explosion and nothing will happen. Plus, we'll be able to maneuver the camera ANYWHERE; just think of the AwEsOmE cinamatics we're going to have for Episode 2 of the SC-Series.

Andy, I'll definitely be free for the LAN next weekend.

I'm surprised the mods do not mess with the quality. My experience has been that quality is severely lowered.

I'm surprised you thought it was good. It's going to be a cult film.
